Behavioral Health Providers

San Leandro Unified School District Partners with Community-Based Organizations to provide Behavioral Health services at our schools that address social and emotional distress that interferes with student attendance, behavior, and achievement in educational settings.

School-based Behavioral Health providers are available at each of our school sites and provide students and their families with access to a caring adult, to positive behavioral interventions and supports, to early intervention to prevent crises, and to consultant to resolve underlying family and environmental issues impacting learning. Students are identified for services through the C.O.S.T. process.

SLUSD and our behavioral health care partners strive to work with caregivers and families to determine and implement the most effective mental health care support for students. We are committed to providing regular and transparent communication with caregivers regarding our health and wellness services, resources, and procedures. Please note, under Senate Bill 543 and Family Code 6924 students,12 and over, might be permitted to self-consent to mental health care services. You can read more about minor consent by clicking the referenced laws.

COST Referral System

We have a number of partnering agencies that provide wellness and mental health counselors, including professionals from:

  • Project Eden
  • East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC)
  • Wellness Together
  • Native American Center for Health (NACH)
  • Korean Community Center of the East Bay (KCEEB)

In order to get connected to services, students can be referred by staff and teachers. However, students can also self-advocate and self-refer their needs for services by filling out this form.

Barbara Lee Center (BLC)

Native American Center for Health continues to operate from the BLC. They provide many services beyond mental wellness.
