At last night’s San Leandro Unified school board meeting, SLUSD trustees voted unanimously to name trustee Christian Rodriguez as School Board President for the upcoming year. Elected to the board in 2018 and most recently serving as board vice president, President Rodriguez has been an integral member of the leadership team throughout his tenure. President Rodriguez and his wife Marina have lived in San Leandro since 2007 and are active parents in San Leandro Unified schools.
“I am honored and excited to step into this role at this particular time in history,” said Rodriguez, “Alongside my fellow trustees, I look forward to continuing our strategic efforts to engage, educate, and empower all students and families in San Leandro through these complex times. I am grateful to be part of the SLUSD community and serve as board president.”
Trustee James Aguilar was named board vice president and Trustee Peter Oshinski will serve as board clerk. The district extended heartfelt appreciation to outgoing president Evelyn González for her tireless service on behalf of SLUSD students, families, and staff during a particularly challenging year.
