Dear SLUSD Community,

I am profoundly heartbroken to share with you the passing of our beloved School Board President Christian Rodriguez. 

As you can only imagine, his tragic, untimely death is enormously devastating for our entire San Leandro community. Christian has been an indispensable member of our SLUSD family for many years now and was also a dear, cherished friend to so many of us. As an inspirational, impassioned advocate for our students and families, his joyous and inclusive leadership will never be replaced. His passing leaves a painful void in our district and in all of our hearts. 

Our SLUSD family sends our deepest, heartfelt condolences to his wife Marina and their three children, as well as his mother and extended family. They have asked us to honor their privacy as they grieve this unimaginable loss. I will share information regarding services and how to send our love and support in the coming days.
